September 25th 2010
Many significant things happened on this day. Starting from the beginning, Franklin Heights Marching Band went to competition for the first time in 2 years. Fox had been stressing this day to us since may. So we practiced our show to the best of our ability all summer till then.
The day before competition we were at Hilliard Bradley for a football game. We were lucky to have a chance to march on the performing field the day before competition. At the game was Devon. I didn't really know him but he graduated a few years ago. He played trombone, just like me. He was looking at Meghan's trombone and started talking to her about if she would like to use his trombone for a while. She took the offer and I ended up with her f trigger trombone. I felt more prepared for the competition than ever.
We arrived at school around 2:30pm that day ready to practice. The day before Fox was talking about someone a few years ago who passed away. Her name was Tiffany, and she loved being in the band. After practice, her dad came back to Heights to talk to all of us. He gave us a motivational speech and hired someone to play relaxing music for us and encouraged us to do our best.
Our first competition was at Hilliard Bradley. We arrived ready for anything. I remember how I had absolutely no nervous feeling in me...until we were lined up waiting to perform. The kind of nervousness that is strong but goes away after the we start performing. I also remember the announcer announcing that the results for OSU vs EMU was 73-20. This caught everyone in the competition off guard because none of us watched the game. We started getting agitated waiting for the competition to let us preform. But when the announcer announced we could take the field more nervousness settled in. The only part of the performance here where I felt bad about was the set where Alex knocked me hat crooked. But I quickly flicked my head to get it straight.
After the performance we drove straight to Grove City and went to get ready. We felt confident and went in there. The field was super worn out unlike Bradley's field. I heard complaints from some people that they couldn't see the lines. But I felt we did good at this competition. We had a lot of cheers from the stands when we came in, and lots of encouragement from Grove City.
At the end of the day all of our hard work paid off. The results at Hilliard Bradley was 1st place in our class, best percussion, a score of 247, and we qualified for state. At Grove city we received 1st place in our class, Outstanding Soloist (Chris Mitchell), participation plaque, a score of 244 1/2 and we qualified for state here too.

Sony Ericsson Review
The Sony Ericsson w760 was a good buy. Key word "was". 2 years ago I went to go buy my first phone and I was happy to have any phone. I ended up getting the Sony Ericsson w760. It had fairly loud speakers behind the call and end button, it was a slide phone, crimson red with a pretty good sized screen. It had a really good battery depending on how you used it. If you call people it would drain the battery but I charge it once every 3 days. Texting was great for people who could text fast with a numerical keypad.
This phone was perfect for the average cell phone user. The only problem was if you aren't careful you might accidently press the sensetive internet button under the call button, or you might "but-dial" someone.
After 2 years, like most other phones this one started to break down on me. I started having problems constantly where the phone would randomly turn off. Or when people call or text me it just turns off. Sometimes the phone would just freeze and the only way to fix it was to take out the battery. The most annoying problem right now is when it tells me to insert my SIM card, but i never took it out. "If your SIM card is out you cant use your phone".
I would recommend this to the average phone user looking to upgrade their phone in 1-2 years.

Change
Last year at this time I was a Freshman at Heights sitting in Mr. Chamberlin's Modern World History class. The difference between then and now is I'm older (duh) and we did't have sports last year. On the first day of school most of my teachers would spend most of the day talking about how the levy failed. Most of the people in the school were a little pissed off about it. Some students moved to other schools stayed there. School was still fun for freshmen, we didn't know about. I was really lazy at the beginning of the year. I would do all my homework in study hall and sleep a little in spanish class. That was basically my first year of high school.
It was when the school levy passed that the life came back to the after school activities. I took advantage of indoor drumline after the levy passed. That was when I felt the impact of homework and highschool. I doing some homework for 2 hours after I got home because 2nd term I didn't have a study hall anymore. Study hall was a handicap for me. If I could go back to last year the only thing I would have changed besides the levy is me taking another class like buisiness foundations instead of study hall. This year I came to school feeling good because it was supposed to be a regular year. Homework is easier because I know what to do. I can finish some homework during lunch and band just comes easy for me. This year is changed because I have to manage homework with band practice 2 hours after school monday and wednesday, then a football game Friday. Today is a Friday.

Doll Face
Doll Face, in my opinion is a creepy video. After watching this video I think I got the main idea it was trying to get across. The people on tv don't have natural beauty. They have make-up and do other things to make them look good so they could be entertaining to you. If you try too hard to look like people on tv, then you will lose who you are. In the video the robot woman stares at the television and sees a person's face and tries to look like her. Then the tv flashed another picture of another woman and the robot tried to have her face.
In the end the robot collasped broken and in worse shape than it started. This video shows what people in real life do as well after they watch tv. People watch tv and then try to look like the celebrities on it. Even when I watch tv I try to look like the people on it because I want to acheive what they acheived.
I think more people in the world should see this video and understand it because it will show them what people do but can't acheive because the celebrities have many things to make them look good.
