Yesterday Mr. Mann showed us a video where a guy talked about bugs and how better it is to eat bugs. Most people don't like to eat bugs because to them it is different. I was raised to not eat bugs because my parents didn't buy bugs to eat, the store didn't sell bugs, and all my friends were scared of eating bugs in elementary school. I myself don't really plan on eating bugs for the rest of my life.
It interested me that he said without bugs we would all die. But if we die the bugs would live on fine. The the bad tomatoes are made into tomato soup, and they probably have bugs mixed in there. I diddn't know how many bugs are already in the products we eat but we're all unaware of it.
I think as the world population grows, everyone will have to start eating more bugs. But there ill be a limit to our population or else we will all die out. More people need to learn to eat less meat and more bugs.

Filming and Piano
In the next few years before I leave High School, I want to accomplish a few things first. First I want to learn to film, direct, and act. Second, I also want to learn piano. I've seen videos of where people who have played piano covers of mainstream songs by ear. That's what I want to learn to do. Listen to a song for 1 day and learn to play it by ear.
In the break I was brainstorming different script ideas I could use for a short film. But to make a film I'll need to order a new battery charger for my camera. I'll continue to write different comedy scripts in my free time. Hopefully in the future I can film it.
During my break I also spent 1-2 hours listening and learning to play the song "Wedding Dress" by Taeyang. I've learned the beginning of the song so far. But recently I found a more difficult version to play on the piano and I plan to start learning that song. =)
But to start learning these things, I think I have to drop a few school activities, so I've considered dropping Indoor Drumline and my time playing Black Ops =(.

Thanksgiving Break and Beyond
The break is coming up and I'm ecstatic. My plan for Thanksgiving Break is to spend time with family, gorge myself in food, and to sleep. I'll have to find time to study words for this english class on the new quizlet. I'm probably prestiging Wednesday to 2nd prestige. I'll try to find enough time to practice a bit of my A solo. I look forward to Black Friday. My dad and I are probably going around town at 5 AM to find some good deals. I'm only searching for a new headset for gaming. I prefer Turtle Beach Headsets or Astros. But these brands can be very costly.
After Break my schedule is to get back to school and prepare for 3 more weeks until Winter Break. The band's probably preparing a winter concert. I'll also have to play in the 1st Jazz band at this concert. Indoor drumline will start but I'm starting to think about not participating because there will be enough people this year. In late January or Febuary I'll go perform my A solo. I'll probably finally get a book from the library because Mr. Mann wants us to read 2 books at once, whick I personally don't like. To me I'ts like watching 1 movie, then pausing after the first 20 minutes to start another completely different movie. That's some of the events I got planned so far.

Black Ops 15?
15th prestige. The new setup for the leveling up system in Activision's new CALL OF DUTY Black Ops is get to level 50 and have 15 prestiges. Thats 800 levels to level up to the highest level.. It takes about 5-6 days to reach level 50. So it'll probably take me another 15-20 weeks to reach 15th prestige. I don't know if I'm ready to go at this again. It's gonna take a lot of work to get back to the top level. I've played the COD series for a while now. It's just a hobby now, and now that I'm good at it I want to try taking it to MLG. One team who went to MLG and won the competition worldwide, earned $700,000. Commentators on youtube that get famous earn money for how many views their video's get. I know if I have the equiptment, me and my friends can make good content and probably earn a bit of extra money for the hobby we love.
I love when new people get on this game. It gets easier to get killstreaks and completly annihalate the other team. I use the Famas, Galil, HK21, L96, AK47, and the AUG with Red camo. This game is really fun and balanced compared to past games in the franchise. The only things I can see Treyarch patching up is, spawning on NukeTown, RC-Cars are annoying, and how theater mode would lose some of my games.

LifeLong Effects
The boy with the Prater-Wily Syndrome made me think, it could happen to anyone. And it would have effect us for the rest of our lives. In my family no one really has any life threatening diseases. But any of us could have easily been born with one. Any children I might have, have a chance of having a lifelong disease that will make their life more difficult. I don't think I could handle a kid with a big disease. Matt's life seems pretty bad. People would make fun of him, because he always wanted food. He described his hunger as knives stabbing at his stomach. Matt likes all kind of food because he constantly eats. It has effected his dad's life and his. For some reason his mom wasn't mentioned much in the video.
If I had a kid with this disease I don't know what I would do. Kids throw food at kids like this, just to laugh at him dive after it. This is a sick thing people do but this world has a lot of sick people. He can't control it and he can't live a normal life ever.

Even kids without that certain disease, but with other disabilities have difficulty in life. They are also discriminated against and it's not their fault.

2+2=22
Right now I'm on writer's block in the computer lab trying o come up with something to write on this blog. On my left I see Kyle playing a boxheads game because he's "done" with his blog. He wants me to play the game too because it's a 2 player game.
Kyle: Phanha I need help! I need help 1 minute later
Kyle:OH GOD, dude I just got raped.
Phanha: That's nice kyle.
Kyle: I'm blaming this on you.
I like how I'm still typing this right now and he has no idea. I'm just gonna keep using what he says to write my blog.
OH NO I've been discovered.
Phanha: Kyle keep saying stuff.
Kyle:BOOM! BOOM! Oh no! Wait I'm still alive! I am still alive! I got raped. I got beat up by a bunch of zombies.
I think to myself why he's so lame.
Then I turn around behind me and hear
Steven: Ew gross!
Serena: (insert her laugh here)
Mr. Mann starts speaking and tells the class that they should never be playing games in class. So Kyle feeling guilty, clicks out of boxheads 2play game.

Plastic Waste
This video made me want to get up and do something, but if I can't get enough people in the world to recycle, then me recycling won't make a difference. Unless you could get a very good recycling system that had as many recycle bins, as trash cans in every building IN THE WORLD. Every school, office building, home, etc would have as many recycling CANS as they would trashcans.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to come up with this idea, but I've started seeing more recycling around some schools. At my middle school we had recycling bins in every classroom. But after we came to high school there was rarely any recycling bins anywhere in the school. More schools and every other building need more recycle bins. Humans are disgusting creatures. Think about what you eat and where it came from. How much trash 1 average person produces a day, month, year, or even lifetime.Every 5 minutes, there are millions of plastic bottles alone, thrown away into the trash can, instead of being recylced. If you could show more people around the world this video, at least 1 % might try to make a difference and recycle their bottles. I've stopped using plastic bottles, and bought a reusable metal bottle.

War Isn't
This video depressed me because of what he went through. After he came back from war he felt different. He had mental problems that no one helped him with. He almost commited suicide the first week of war, but luckily someone saw him and started yelling at him right before he pulled the trigger.
After he came back from war, he lost his wife, his old life, and joined a biker gang. He joined the biker gang to feel like part of a unit again just like he felt at war. Everyday he would think about war. When he went to Washington D.C. to speak with a representative about how to treat war veterans but the representative didn't have time to speak with him.
If I was in this situation I don't know what I would do. I would probably look to my family for help or get therapy. I don't know what it would feel like to be in this situation but I know some of the things he did, I wouldn't do. I hope more people would start paying attention to war veterans, and I think all high school students should be required to watch this video.

September 25th 2010
Many significant things happened on this day. Starting from the beginning, Franklin Heights Marching Band went to competition for the first time in 2 years. Fox had been stressing this day to us since may. So we practiced our show to the best of our ability all summer till then.
The day before competition we were at Hilliard Bradley for a football game. We were lucky to have a chance to march on the performing field the day before competition. At the game was Devon. I didn't really know him but he graduated a few years ago. He played trombone, just like me. He was looking at Meghan's trombone and started talking to her about if she would like to use his trombone for a while. She took the offer and I ended up with her f trigger trombone. I felt more prepared for the competition than ever.
We arrived at school around 2:30pm that day ready to practice. The day before Fox was talking about someone a few years ago who passed away. Her name was Tiffany, and she loved being in the band. After practice, her dad came back to Heights to talk to all of us. He gave us a motivational speech and hired someone to play relaxing music for us and encouraged us to do our best.
Our first competition was at Hilliard Bradley. We arrived ready for anything. I remember how I had absolutely no nervous feeling in me...until we were lined up waiting to perform. The kind of nervousness that is strong but goes away after the we start performing. I also remember the announcer announcing that the results for OSU vs EMU was 73-20. This caught everyone in the competition off guard because none of us watched the game. We started getting agitated waiting for the competition to let us preform. But when the announcer announced we could take the field more nervousness settled in. The only part of the performance here where I felt bad about was the set where Alex knocked me hat crooked. But I quickly flicked my head to get it straight.
After the performance we drove straight to Grove City and went to get ready. We felt confident and went in there. The field was super worn out unlike Bradley's field. I heard complaints from some people that they couldn't see the lines. But I felt we did good at this competition. We had a lot of cheers from the stands when we came in, and lots of encouragement from Grove City.
At the end of the day all of our hard work paid off. The results at Hilliard Bradley was 1st place in our class, best percussion, a score of 247, and we qualified for state. At Grove city we received 1st place in our class, Outstanding Soloist (Chris Mitchell), participation plaque, a score of 244 1/2 and we qualified for state here too.

Sony Ericsson Review
The Sony Ericsson w760 was a good buy. Key word "was". 2 years ago I went to go buy my first phone and I was happy to have any phone. I ended up getting the Sony Ericsson w760. It had fairly loud speakers behind the call and end button, it was a slide phone, crimson red with a pretty good sized screen. It had a really good battery depending on how you used it. If you call people it would drain the battery but I charge it once every 3 days. Texting was great for people who could text fast with a numerical keypad.
This phone was perfect for the average cell phone user. The only problem was if you aren't careful you might accidently press the sensetive internet button under the call button, or you might "but-dial" someone.
After 2 years, like most other phones this one started to break down on me. I started having problems constantly where the phone would randomly turn off. Or when people call or text me it just turns off. Sometimes the phone would just freeze and the only way to fix it was to take out the battery. The most annoying problem right now is when it tells me to insert my SIM card, but i never took it out. "If your SIM card is out you cant use your phone".
I would recommend this to the average phone user looking to upgrade their phone in 1-2 years.

Change
Last year at this time I was a Freshman at Heights sitting in Mr. Chamberlin's Modern World History class. The difference between then and now is I'm older (duh) and we did't have sports last year. On the first day of school most of my teachers would spend most of the day talking about how the levy failed. Most of the people in the school were a little pissed off about it. Some students moved to other schools stayed there. School was still fun for freshmen, we didn't know about. I was really lazy at the beginning of the year. I would do all my homework in study hall and sleep a little in spanish class. That was basically my first year of high school.
It was when the school levy passed that the life came back to the after school activities. I took advantage of indoor drumline after the levy passed. That was when I felt the impact of homework and highschool. I doing some homework for 2 hours after I got home because 2nd term I didn't have a study hall anymore. Study hall was a handicap for me. If I could go back to last year the only thing I would have changed besides the levy is me taking another class like buisiness foundations instead of study hall. This year I came to school feeling good because it was supposed to be a regular year. Homework is easier because I know what to do. I can finish some homework during lunch and band just comes easy for me. This year is changed because I have to manage homework with band practice 2 hours after school monday and wednesday, then a football game Friday. Today is a Friday.

Doll Face
Doll Face, in my opinion is a creepy video. After watching this video I think I got the main idea it was trying to get across. The people on tv don't have natural beauty. They have make-up and do other things to make them look good so they could be entertaining to you. If you try too hard to look like people on tv, then you will lose who you are. In the video the robot woman stares at the television and sees a person's face and tries to look like her. Then the tv flashed another picture of another woman and the robot tried to have her face.
In the end the robot collasped broken and in worse shape than it started. This video shows what people in real life do as well after they watch tv. People watch tv and then try to look like the celebrities on it. Even when I watch tv I try to look like the people on it because I want to acheive what they acheived.
I think more people in the world should see this video and understand it because it will show them what people do but can't acheive because the celebrities have many things to make them look good.

My Summer to Now
The last month of school I'm anticipating summer, just like every other student in the world. We don't focus as much, we're tired of school, and teachers are tired. But as soon as school is over, some of us get tired of summer. Then we end up wasting our summer doing nothing except getting fat sitting around all day. During the summer I chose to try to do the opposite or at least balance my time outside the house with my time inside. Throughout the summer I had 2 constant things I would do; Game with friends and band practice. Band practice was once or twice a week until late july. Then games this summer was probably the biggest waste of time of my life but I'll still play once in a while. The highlight of my summer where I was most active was my week at bandcamp. Our schedule was basics at 7, breakfast at 8, field at 9 lunch at 12, indoor practice at 12:40, freetime at 3:30, dinner at 5, field at 6, then movies 9-11. We did this for 5 days marching in 90 degree weather. By the end of band camp we all had a tan.The rest of August felt like it happened in 2 weeks. By the time I got back I was left with 3 weeks left of summer. In that limited time I spent time with family and friends and slept in everyday until school started. The week of school starting I had 2 problems, no new clothes or school supplies. I spent Sunday going to the mall and buying a new pair of shoes. The mall was so packed that we just decided to get new shirts and other clothes next week. At the last minute I went to Wal-Greens and got school supplies. I think Sophmore year will be a challenge compared to freshman year.
